About the nursery

 

 

The Marslev branch of Rosa Danica A/S is a “young” nursery, founded in 1967. Today, the nursery is nevertheless a large and thriving nursery with no less than 84,000 square metres of greenhouse and 85 staff to grow the chosen plants.
The nursery produces approx. 12.5 million potted roses, distributed as follows:
2.5 million roses, 6 cm
7 million roses, 10.5 cm
2.5 million roses, 12 cm
0.5 million roses, 15 cm
As a result of ongoing investments in modern equipment and extensions to the cultivation area, Rosa Danica A/S is an efficient nursery with the latest technology.
The company's vision can be expressed in a single sentence:
“It is the company's goal to produce top-quality potted plants with maximum regard for the environment”.
That is why the company is part of the international environmental organisation MPS. The nursery has been MPS-certified since day one. Biological pest control, use of rainwater, recirculation of water and fertiliser are examples of the green initiatives that are natural components of the nursery's production methods.
Rosa Danica A/S was started in 1987 by Lis and Torben Moth. Today, the nursery has a total of 84,000 square metres of greenhouse area where 85 committed employees produce a total of 12.5 million Kordana potted roses.
Rosa Danica is involved in the testing of new varieties in collaboration with Kordes in Germany. Kordes has more than 100 years' experience with the improvement of roses, and in this context, Rosa Danica and Kordes test more than 2000 new roses every year before a few of these find their way to customers as new products.
